About Me

Chris Comport

It is with great sadness we tell you that Chris passed into the arms of his Lord  May 4th, 2017 after a battle with Renal cancer. He loved building model trains and loved all his clients.

Modeling has come a long way since I began saving soda bottles to buy the new Renwal Nike Ajax for 98 cents when I was 10. I never imagined it could lead to a lifelong love of model making that would also afford me the ability to make a modest living as well. For the last 30 years, the Lord has blessed me with incredible opportunities to apply “His talent… on loan” to help others achieve their goals. I guess it was my destiny. I can’t imagine doing anything else.

This is a long overdue update to my website, hopefully designed so you can easily navigate through the myriad of projects that have kept me busy for the last few years.
If you have a special structure model or kit that you haven’t found the time to build for your layout, maybe I can help get it done. I’ve developed a lot of techniques that move a project along, quickly without sacrificing detail. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

The same applies to all the Layouts pictured on this web site.. In addition to the 8 or so that I built myself, I’ve worked on a number of others as an independent contractor for Railworld, doing over 150 designs for clients as well as custom and kitbashed structures, scenery, track and wiring.

Are you ready to get those boxes off the shelf?  Contact me to find out how I can help.
